Back in time to Russia (early 20th Century)















Some of the most amazing things about photography is the ability to capture time. When looking back to those images containing past scenes one can not help to evoke, and live again, what happened at that time.

But when these images are so clear and real, and also were taken before we were born, it's like traveling through time.

The pictures shown in this post were taken between 1910 and 1912 in Russia, by photographer Sergei Mikhailovich Prokudin-Gorskii (1863-1944) using a special technique using red, green and blue filters to capture them.
